Yesterday I saw a lot of posts about the “sock bun.” Like, a lot a lot of posts. I for one have never even heard of the “sock bun.” So I read the posts saying to myself, umm, what the heck? So naturally, I went home and looked up a crap ton of YouTube videos on the “sock bun.” Apparently it is really popular and I have been living under a freaking rock. (Yup. The video below is TWO YEARS OLD! Where have I been?!)

Welp, I found one, “The Sock Bun Secret” and I really liked what this girl did. The end product was much nicer than the regular ol “sock bun,” so I thought that I would give it a whirl.

It went a little something like this…

Watch like two hours worth of YouTube videos then get the courage to cut some socks. Of course I didn’t own any tube socks. On to plan B.

Me: “Bro, do you have any tall dark socks.”
Bro: “Ya, in my top drawer.”
Me: “Cool. Thanks.”
(Rummage through drawer and take three pairs.)
Bro: “What are you using them for?”
Me: “Umm, nothing. I want to wear them.”
(NOT cut them. Duh.)

Then I just go and cut some socks and roll them into a “donut.” Apparently I did it wrong because my hair did not look cute.

Then I watched a video of how to make the “donut.” Onto sock #2. Snip. Snip. I now have the correct “donut.”

I then did my hair like this over and over until I found the perfect height to place the pony tail. Then I went to bed. Woke up this morning, got ready, and voila! I did the “sock bun” and I think it looks pretty darn cool! YAY.

OH! And don’t worry. It STAYS in. I’ve told practically anyone that would listen today that I have a freaking SOCK in my hair. So naturally, they have all touched my head. And the bun still looks amazeballs.
